About The Instructors:

Kathleen Pead, owner and Head Instructor, has been teaching lessons since 1976 and riding horses since she was 3 years old. She earned her British Horse Society Asst. Instructors Certification in 1973 and the American Horse Shows Instructor Certification in 1974.

She learned to love 3 Day Eventing while studying in England and chose to continue riding and teaching Dressage and Jumping here in California. She taught in Southern California as well as Australia for a short time before permanently residing here in Orangevale in 1986.  Her eventing horse, Geoffrey, is the barn activities manager and entertains everyone who comes to visit.

Kathy's daughter, Jennifer,  was literally riding before she was born! She earned her own horse at the age of 10 and has been teaching since she was 14.  Currently at 23 years, she loves teaching the beginners and intermediate riders and is very patient while encouraging them on. Jennifer is also a Fantasy Writer Author and has just recently published her first book! Many of the students at the stable have purchased her book and love what she writes about and are anxious for the second book in a series of 9. Kudos to you, Jennifer!  

Olivia Johnson has been riding with Kathy since she was 10 years old and is now teaching beginners for us.  She currently has her own horse and does a great job with the very young children in our Mommy & Me, private half hour lessons and Fun With Horses summer camp programs.

Lauren Menz is back!  On break from college, she taught for us in the past. She will be teaching Summer Camps, private half hour lessons as well as Mommy & Me Classes.

Lottie Cassidy is new with us this year.  She was working at a Therapeutic Horse Stable in the Bay Area for quite awhile before moving to Sacramento and has lots of experience with young and nervous riders.  She teaches private lessons, Mommy & Me classes and will be teaching our summer camps this year. Welcome Lottie!

Erika Hawkins also joins us as an Instructor this year. She was with us last year as an Assistant to the Fun With Horses summer camp and is ready to take charge and teach some of her own sessions this year! She has her own horse and has been riding with our stable and others for many years. Welcome Erika!

Other Items of Interest:

Feel free to come by and take a look at the facility, but please do not attempt to pet or feed the horses until you have spoken with Kathy or one of the other instructors. Keep all children with you, and please do not bring your pets.
