One Hour Ride: All participants ride two horses, one on the rail at the walk and the other on the longe line, trotting. This is a mini riding lesson. The time is divided up equally between the participants. If there are more than 10 girls, special arrangements can be made to extend the time or offer a discounted rate.
Junior Badges: For smaller groups of 10 or less, the three sessions consisting of 2 groundwork lessons and 1 riding session is sufficient. For groups of 10 or over, the four sessions are recommended in order for them to all get enough time in the saddle to satisfy the badge requirements. This class will consist of 2 groundwork lessons and 2 riding sessions. Two horses will be used, one for the walking and the other for the trotting. The girls will ride both horses. The time will be divided equally between them.
The material that they learn will satisfy both of the badge requirements offered by the Girl Scouts.
