Our mission is to provide a family friendly stables with both English & Western flavors. Kids ages 4 to 94 are invited to come relax and enjoy the beauty and joys of horses and horsemanship at our facility. Whether you are looking for riding lessons, summer camps, birthday parties or boarding, we have it all. Girl Scouts can earn their badges, horse owners can enjoy Orangevale Park across the street where there is also a playground and picnic tables.

Another year has gone by and we are continuing to grow and offer new programs and lots of fun! Let's make this year the best one ever!
Welcome to South Sutter Charter School students! We are now a Vendor for them as well as continuing to be a Vendor for Visions in Education through the San Juan Unified School District. Our Horse Husbandry program works well in this environment, and we've had great feedback from past students.
We lost a wonderful pony and dear friend this year, Penny. As we would travel to horse shows and other places and mention our loss, I was surprised at how many people not only knew who she was but learned to ride on her! She will never be forgotten and now her son, Pete, has taken her place in the line up. At 21, he's more than capable! Along with that, we've had horses that have been with us since the beginning when we taught at the Orangevale Avenue stables who have finally asked to be retired. Close to 30 years of age, it is well deserved. Of course, that means we have new friends to join our happy herd!
Meet Joey, a 12 year old Quarter Pony. He came from the mountains as a trail guide horse and is not quite ready to give up his snow coat, but we're working on it! And then there is Purdy, our first Cremello horse! She has two hazel eyes and a wonderful, kind and trusting temperament. She's had some good training in her past at only 8 years old, and if you like a fast canter, you'll enjoy riding her! I am in the process of looking for one more new lesson horse on the taller side that will work as a steady and consistent lesson and summer camp horse that the students will learn to love. I'll keep you posted when the new horse arrives!
We have a new instructor joining us this year as we had to say goodbye to two others that have continued on their own path to their future. You can read more about that on the About Us page.
Last year I told you about Jennifer's first book that was a complete success for her. She is soon going to be releasing her second book in the series, titled "The Great Peace, Flames of War". All of the students here who have read her books love what she writes about and are anxious to read this second book. Once again, congrats are in order to Jennifer. This year our FUN WITH HORSES camps will be offered through the Orangevale Parks Dept. and the Fair Oaks Parks Dept. Our OWN A HORSE FOR A WEEK camp will be available exclusively through us and we are lowering the rate for everybody this year to our "returning campers" price.
Boarding stables all over California have been hit with rising costs of hay and fuel, making it difficult to continue operating without raising their rates. We too, have run into this dilemma, however, we are minimizing changes in pricing. The board has increased to match the price increase in hay only; should the price drop in the future, we will adjust our fees accordingly.
We aim to provide you with up to date information and facts on lessons, boarding, training, events, and other happenings at the barn and beyond.
